HQL & Basic Handgun Fundamentals
An HQL is required if you are renting, receiving or purchasing a regulated firearm in Maryland. You must submit an HQL Application to the Maryland State Police after completing both the class and Livescan fingerprints. We will guide you through the application process, state requirements, and live fire on the range. The Livescan fingerprinting is not included in this fee. If you want to position yourself to acquire the knowledge and necessary licensure before buying a firearm, this is the class for you. We will focus on the fundamentals of pistol safety, marksmanship, cleaning, and storage. We will introduce the universal safety rules, proper grip, sight alignment, and trigger control.
